Coming Soon
It has recently been brought to my attention that I am featured -- perhaps prominently -- in the new set of DC HeroClix miniatures.
This pleases Polaris. Though not on the scale of a massive statue, these miniatures will still feature my likeness. And they will last forever! Though I fully intend to live for eternity, perhaps there will come a time when even I pass away. But even in that grim, dark future I will not be forgotten! For when all of mankind's other creations pass away the Doctor Polaris HeroClix will yet remain!
But this is idle speculation. Of immediate importance is the quality of the sculpt. So far, images of this miniature elude me. I wish to gaze into the eye of eternity and see myself gaze back. I want to know that the sculptors have done my form justice.
I suppose there is also the matter of the gameplay. I myself have not yet taken part in a game of HeroClix. Will my astonishing powers of magnetism be appropriately depicted? And most important of all: will my Heroclix figure be able to beat the crap out of Magneto's?
I demand answers!

Send me your email address, and I'll send you a comparison of your figures and, um, the other guy's.

I think your figure rocks. The really cool thing is that they remember you are a REAL physician, until, say, Dr. Tyme. They give you "Support", the power to heal other clicks when they take damage from fighting.
The Dr. Polaris figure (111 point) is clearly better than the three original Magneto figure (the Rookie, Experienced, and Veteran versions in the Infinity Challenge set).
There are three subsequent Magneto figures that, at a higher point cost, one would expect to be better than yours.
The 133 point "Ultimates" version does have a better Attack Value. But he's slower than you, and much easier to hit. Besides, you start with the "Running Shot" ability, which makes it much more likely that you'll get the first shot. I think your figures is more useful, particularly for the cost.
The 144 point "Ultimate" version is similar to your, with slight variations each way in combat values. Both have the same number of "clicks" of life. His is "tougher" because it has damage-reducing powers, yours is much more "elusive" because you have damage-avoiding powers. Plus, he's got some fairly useless powers like Energy Explosion and Leadership. You, on the other hand, have more useful powers like LOADS of Running Shot, Support, and some clicks of blastastic Quake. Advantage? Definitely Polaris, particularly since he costs 33 points less.
There is the 187 "Armor Wars" version. It's definitely more powerful than the Polaris figure, and has three more clicks of life. But, it's a Promotional figure; they aren't allowed in legal play, in part, because their stats are powerful enough to be out of whack with regular game play, so I'm not sure we should even count it at all.
On the whole, your clix represents you well. It's chockful of powers. On the first five clicks, it has four of four slots with some power, and on the last two in has three of four.
It's got five clicks of Running Shot, which makes you a very mobile attack piece, and an immediate threat as soon as you're on the board. It's got two clicks of Force Blast for pushing away opponents who are in your face, which are useful, because your other powers are more effective at a distance, so opponents will want fight you in close combat.
You have telekinesis to represent your magnetic abilities. This lets you throw objects (or your teammates!) at your opponents. You have Incapacitate, so that even you can tied and wear down figure whom you would have trouble hurting directly (like Superman). You have Quake, which let's you hit everyone adjacent to you while pushing them away at the same time.
You have loads of Deflection, which makes it very very hard to hit you unless someone is adjacent to you.
You have Ranged Combat Expert, which represents that your attacks work best if you have some "room to swing". You have FIVE clicks of Support; as a Real Doctor, you can take time out from beating Hal Jordan to heal your teammates so that they go do you bidding. I mean, not even Dr. Mid-Nite has FIVE clicks of Support!
The Polaris click is a very solid attack piece, particularly at the beginning of the game. As the game goes on, his ability to help and heal make him doubly useful to any villain team.
I predict he will be popular on larger villain teams, much more so than on small teams where he is single big-hitter.
Comparing him to some of the other villains in this very set, well...
He's worth more than:
Mr. Mxyzptlk
Abra Kadabra
Tharok
Power Ring
and Hector Hammond.
That's pretty heady company. Particularly Hector (*snort*).
Oh, and though you're cheaper than Guy Gardner, you would definitely kick his ass.
You do me a great honor, Scipio.
I will not forget this.
Not Guy! Go kick Hal's ass instead!
