Were you aware that famous Batman scribe Dennis O'Neil was also the man who gave the even more famous Optimus Prime his name?

Oh wow...I never knew that...

Question is, was that for Hasbro when they began bringing the toys over, or was it for the animation, or was it the comic? I don't know really which was concieved first in America, though I know the toys have been in Japan for a long time in some fashion.
