True Eloquence

Know this: I, Doctor Polaris am mightily pleased by the events that transpired between the pages of this week's Justice Society of America.

Also, the Atomic Skull is my new best friend.

My surly, bearded replacement "Mr. Polaris" made great pains during the issue to annoy and generally aggravate all around him. The other villains did not respond to it well; perhaps they remember the golden age when the true Doctor Polaris soared above them, unconcerned with the pitiful mercenary work of the villain underclass.

Still, only one of their number had the fortitude of spirit to say what needed to be said. You should know that I was as surprised as any to find that that one was the Atomic Skull. Mr. Skull pulled no punches, telling it exactly as it is. Of the M. B. A. he said:

"You're one to talk, you pathetic excuse for a replacement villain!"

With that, the Atomic Skull has earned a place of glory among the great thinkers and philosophers of our time. To him, kudos.

Villains do not always tell the truth, but I do believe that the Atomic Skull is one of that rare breed, that says what he thinks. And really, EVERYONE was thinking it.

The sooner the "new" Doctor Polaris is a stain on some giant robots foot, the better.

So who, exactly, was the Eclipso that showed up in this comic? He does not remind me of the Eclipso we've been seeing over the past decade or so. (Or rather, he DOES remind me, but only vaguely.)

Yes, especially since he was acting as though he had never fought with Dr. Fate, or say taken on the entire planet at some point in his career.

I can only blame it on having been bonded to Jean Loring for awhile having hurt his consequence.

I was wondering the same thing about Eclipso. As you both point out, he didn't act anything like the Eclipso we're used to seeing. Perhaps someone else has gotten their hands on the black diamond? Or maybe Willingham and Sturges just don't know anything about Eclipso...
