What I want to know is WHO won the Giant 5000 Prize Contest.
Silver Age covers were completely insane! Somehow, the inside of the book never quite matched up to the outside in potential. I remember one where Lois was turned into a centaur, and Superman said it was permanent...but it wasn't. IT WASN'T!

Well, "awesome" isn't exactly how I'd describe.
I think "effortlessly yet staggeringly bizarre" would be more accurate.
