GLC #42

I'm going to say this right up front: I did not expect what happened in Green Lantern Corps 42.

It's been a long time since I was genuinely shocked by the ending of a comic. Most things get telegraphed or revealed or are just predictable. And I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who did predict this ending. But I wasn't one of them.

I'll probably come back to this topic later. I don't really want to say much else right now as I don't want to let out much in the way of spoilers.

Plus, I'm mourning. I can't tell you the last time that happened for a comic character either...

Lol, yeah, the tags do kinda spoil it!

I'm gutted by the end of GLC. can't believe they did that.

Well, I was completely gobsmacked. Didn't see that coming at ALL!

Now I'm all depressed.

I was completely caught off-guard by that, I think it's interesting that the Black Lanterns don't care about hearts anymore, which makes me wonder how Earth is going to still tie into this series. However I have to say the SPOILER ENDING makes me even more convinced that this isn't all going to end with a bunch of characters permanently dead.

That makes me sad.

You all make good points, but if I can be honest... I wasn't really all that concerned about spoilers. I figure anybody who's coming here either already knows or doesn't give a damn.

I just used that as an excuse to put off writing about it more in full until later. I'm so damn busy with school right now I don't have the time to devote to this blog that it -- and you -- deserve...

Clearly this is just DC's way of making completely sure that I'm going to buy the New DC Direct Kyle Rayner action figure. Lol

I was pretty taken aback what happened. I've got death fatigue right now though. He's the only one of the 2814 Lanterns to not have died or be seriously injured yet, so it was kind of bound to happen at some point.

I am happy that he had such a cool and touching death. I'm kind of hoping the Indigo Lanterns or someone will pull some shit and he'll like Mr. Terrific and actually be alive in the next issue.

PS -- I totally feel you about responsibilities getting in the way of blogging. I haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like to in a long time. : (
