I don't think mirrors work that way...

Why couldn't Batman and Robin simply walk past the mirrors and through the wide opening near where the Mysterious Mirror Man (or MMM or M3, which ever you prefer) is standing?
Robin: "Gee, Batman, can't we just break the mirrors?"
Batman: "Perish the thought, Robin! Do you WANT to give yourself 84 years of bad luck?"
Robin: "Considering how things are going for me so far in the 21st Century ... Bad luck as opposed to WHAT?"
